River Ship Day 1, Sat: USA – Amsterdam. Board your overnight flight to Amsterdam.

Day 2, Sun: Amsterdam. Arrive in Amsterdam and transfer to your luxurious floating hotel conveniently moored near the Central Railway Station. Enjoy the balance of the day at leisure, or take a canal cruise before departing Amsterdam in the evening. Tonight, meet your fellow travelers and the ship's crew during the Welcome reception.

Rhine-Moselle
Itinerary Day 3, Mon: Cruising – Cologne. Morning finds you cruising on the legendary Rhine. Peaceful river meadows, and idyllic villages appear along the river. Pass Duisburg, the world's largest inland port. The mouth of the Ruhr is here, the lifeline of Germany's Ruhr District. Cruise through fashionable Düsseldorf, before arriving in Cologne in the afternoon for a guided walking tour through the old part of the city and a visit to the fabled cathedral. Depart at midnight.

Day 4, Tue: Cochem. This morning's scenery takes you up the Rhine past charming riverside villages. Then enter the intimate Moselle Valley and cruise past terraced vineyards and hilltop castles to Cochem. After lunch, visit this charming riverside town where the old city gates and walls still stand. There will be free time to explore the beautiful market square. After dinner, you are invited to learn about the Moselle wines and taste some samples at a very special and romantic wine evening.

Day 5, Wed: Moselle Valley – Trier. Today, enjoy stunning views as you cruise through the fascinating Moselle Valley to Trier, Germany's oldest city. In the afternoon, tour this charming city with its Roman monuments, imperial baths, Porta Nigra gate and amphitheater. After dinner, there will be time to explore this beautiful city and perhaps taste the famous Moselle wine.

Day 6, Thu: Moselle Valley – Bernkastel – Zell. Morning arrival in the charming village of Bernkastel. Strategically located in the middle of the Moselle wine producing region that stretches from the French border to the Rhine, Bernkastel boasts over 500 years of documented wine history. After a short walk through the old town center with it's many Medieval and Renaissance buildings, tour the Moselle Wine Museum to experience some of this history. Lunchtime offers a scenic and leisurely cruise down the winding Moselle River to Zell for your overnight stop. Enjoy an afternoon stroll through Zell. A delightful wine reception is prepared for tonight.

Day 7, Fri: Moselle Valley – Koblenz – Rüdesheim. Say farewell to the Moselle Valley as you arrive later this morning in Koblenz at the confluence of the Moselle and the Rhine Rivers. Enjoy a walking tour of this historic hub of trade. This afternoon, be on deck to see the most beautiful and famous part of the Rhine River. See castle after castle, and the infamous Lorelei rock. Today's scenic cruise ends in the little wine village of Rüdesheim. Tour the town and visit the unique Siegfried's Mechanical Musical Instrument Museum. Return to the ship via the Drosselgasse, a narrow alley lined with wine taverns and restaurants. After dinner, you might like to return to sample the local vintage.

Day 8, Sat: Worms – Heidelberg – Strasbourg. Your early morning cruise continues south to the city of Worms. After breakfast, depart for a guided excursion to Heidelberg, the oldest university town in Germany, and famous for its romantic scenery. Rejoin the ship in Speyer and continue your afternoon cruising the Upper Rhine river. Relax on the sun deck, read a book, play cards with newfound friends or just enjoy the passing scenery. Late this evening arrive in Strasbourg.

Day 9, Sun: Strasbourg – Munich. After breakfast, disembark and enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of Strasbourg. Free time for lunch before your modern motor-coach departs for Munich.

Day 10, Mon: Munich. Morning sightseeing includes Nymphenburg Palace, Frauenkirche, Marienplatz with the Old and New Town Hall, the many other sights. Afternoon and evening are at your own leisure. You may want to sample hearty Bavarian dishes in one of the many typical Bavarian restaurants.

Day 11, Tue: Munich – USA. Your memorable vacation come to an end as you transfer to the airport for the flight home.
